When Base Plant Projects realized Syncrude’s road building material was in short supply, they teamed with Mildred Lake Mining to seek a solution. Did you know that the Alberta oil sands are the third-largest known source of crude oils in the world, next to Saudi Arabia and Venezuela? One of the largest producers of crude oil in Alberta is Syncrude. In 2011, Syncrude produced a considerable 105.3 million barrels of Crude Oil. Syncrude Canada Ltd. is one of the largest producers of crude oil from the oils sands in Canada. Based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, Syncrude’s current capacity allows them to supply 15% of Canada’s petroleum requirements. Cypher recently had a presence at the 2014 China Mining Conference through its distributors, Beijing STS Instrument Co. Ltd. We are thrilled to have STS as a part of the Cypher team. As seen below, STS once again had the largest booth at the show, with a major portion dedicated to Cypher products! Canada-China Green Mining Workshop

Cypher Environmental was recently invited to once again make a presentation at the Canada – China Green Mining Innovation Workshop, held in conjunction with the China Mining Conference, on October 30, 2014. The event was put on through a combined effort from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) and Natural Resources Canada. This was the second of such events, the first of which Cypher also presented at during the Prospectors and Developers’ Association of Canada event in 2013 in Toronto, ON, Canada. Cypher was chosen to present again at this year’s event due to the great work Cypher has been doing over the last few years in the mining industry in China. Cypher Environmental in Myanmar

Cypher Environmental was invited to Myanmar this month to meet with the Chief Minister and other high ranking Ministers to discuss the country’s infrastructure and the rebuilding of some of the country’s major roads using Cypher’s soil stabilizer, EarthZyme. A section of rural road near Shwebo was chosen as the first demonstration site in the country. EarthZyme was applied with great results. Myanmar or officially known as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar is located in Southeast Asia and bordered by Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand.  The region experiences a long dry season.  Water shortages are a frequent issue across the country so UltraZyme was also looked at as a potential solution for water-related issues at various industrial applications with highly polluted wastewater streams.

Globetrotting Cypher president Todd Burns recently returned from the PDAC Convention in Toronto, where he conducted a presentation at the Innovation Forum. The PDAC audience learned how current market factors favour the use of Cypher’s environmentally friendly EarthZyme product to meet the demand for non-toxic, safe and greener environmental solutions for our world. EarthZyme is paving a new way for haul road construction, and as these photos show, Todd was pleased to explain that new way to everyone in attendance.

Our past projects have taken us all around the world – and to some of the most remote regions in the world. We have seen first hand how a lack of infrastructure can become a bottleneck to progress – whether it is a key farm road in Turkey or a mine haul road in Colombia, having stable road conditions can ensure there is no unnecessary stoppage in work.  Soil stabilization takes poor quality soil and turns it into a valuable engineering material.  Coarse aggregate is quickly becoming an exhausted resource. Cost are continually increasing to either deliver the aggregate to the job sites or crust existing rock.  The poor quality soil is excavated and then replaced with the aggregate.  This increases vehicle usage, time and you would also need to dispose of the poor quality soil.  It is more cost effective to use the material that is already there, while … Read More
