To highlight the Anniversary of over 50 Brandon University (BU) researchers and several grad students being featured in the Research Connection section that is published regularly throughout the academic year, and the 50th year of BU chartering as a University, a collected edition of Research Connections were published in the “It’s All Happening at BU” magazine. The article features the ongoing research being conducted in partnership between Cypher Environmental and Dr. Hamid Mumin and his research team. Read for yourself, the ongoing efforts to engineer and design roads in Canada using local clay- rich materials and how the continued research is putting an end to dangerous road conditions on unpaved roads. We are pleased to have a positive, ongoing relationship with secondary institutes such as Brandon University and thank them for the professional and in depth work they have done and continue to conduct. When Base Plant Projects realized Syncrude’s road building material was in short supply, they teamed with Mildred Lake Mining to seek a solution. Did you know that the Alberta oil sands are the third-largest known source of crude oils in the world, next to Saudi Arabia and Venezuela? One of the largest producers of crude oil in Alberta is Syncrude. In 2011, Syncrude produced a considerable 105.3 million barrels of Crude Oil. Syncrude Canada Ltd. is one of the largest producers of crude oil from the oils sands in Canada. Based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, Syncrude’s current capacity allows them to supply 15% of Canada’s petroleum requirements. In 2011, Syncrude produced 105.3 million barrels of Syncrude Crude Oil. In 2009, Syncrude was faced with a challenge – the sand and gravel they used for road building purposes was in short supply. They had to find an alternate solution that … Read More
Cypher recently had a presence at the 2014 China Mining Conference through its distributors, Beijing STS Instrument Co. Ltd. We are thrilled to have STS as a part of the Cypher team. As seen below, STS once again had the largest booth at the show, with a major portion dedicated to Cypher products! Please see the pictures below of the trade show and the great exhibits put on by STS. Frank Wang, CEO of STS, shows potential customers some EarthZyme stabilized soil cores. STS’s Engineer Liu Yunyun describing to customers the improved engineering properties of EarthZyme stabilized soil. A great display showing an example of the EarthZyme soil stabilization process. Views of the STS booth showcasing the Cypher line of green mining technologies.
Cypher Environmental was recently invited to once again make a presentation at the Canada – China Green Mining Innovation Workshop, held in conjunction with the China Mining Conference, on October 30, 2014. The event was put on through a combined effort from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) and Natural Resources Canada. This was the second of such events, the first of which Cypher also presented at during the Prospectors and Developers’ Association of Canada event in 2013 in Toronto, ON, Canada. Cypher was chosen to present again at this year’s event due to the great work Cypher has been doing over the last few years in the mining industry in China. Namely, the introduction of EarthZyme as an innovative soil stabilization solution for a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative for the building and maintenance of high performance haul roads. EarthZyme has been chosen as the product of … Read More
Cypher Environmental was invited to Myanmar this month to meet with the Chief Minister and other high ranking Ministers to discuss the country’s infrastructure and the rebuilding of some of the country’s major roads using Cypher’s soil stabilizer, EarthZyme. A section of rural road near Shwebo was chosen as the first demonstration site in the country. EarthZyme was applied with great results. Myanmar or officially known as the Republic of the Union of Myanmar is located in Southeast Asia and bordered by Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand. The region experiences a long dry season. Water shortages are a frequent issue across the country so UltraZyme was also looked at as a potential solution for water-related issues at various industrial applications with highly polluted wastewater streams.
Globetrotting Cypher president Todd Burns recently returned from the PDAC Convention in Toronto, where he conducted a presentation at the Innovation Forum. The PDAC audience learned how current market factors favour the use of Cypher’s environmentally friendly EarthZyme product to meet the demand for non-toxic, safe and greener environmental solutions for our world. EarthZyme is paving a new way for haul road construction, and as these photos show, Todd was pleased to explain that new way to everyone in attendance.
Cypher Environmental will be attending and conducting a presentation at PDAC 2014, the signature event from the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC). The PDAC International Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange is the world’s leading Convention for people, companies and organizations in, or connected with, mineral exploration. As part of the convention’s Innovation Forum, we will be discussing how current market factors favour the use of Cypher’s environmentally friendly EarthZyme product to meet the demand for non-toxic, safe and greener environmental solutions for our world. The four-day annual Convention held in Toronto, Canada, has grown in size, stature and influence since it began in 1932 and today is the event of choice for the world’s mineral industry. In addition to meeting over 1,000 exhibitors, 30,000 attendees from more than 125 countries, it provides the opportunity to attend technical sessions, short courses as well as social and networking events. Hope to … Read More
Last week, our distributor Beijing STS Instrument Co. attended the 15th annual China Mining Conference and Exhibition held in Tianjin. Once again, STS held the largest and most popular booth at the event. Beijing STS was able to host live demonstrations of Cypher products which provide great insight on the effectiveness of our products. Here are a few photos from the event: A big thanks to the team at Beijing STS Instruments Co. Ltd!
Unpaved roads can be dangerous to operate on and require frequent and ongoing road maintenance to upkeep. Our soil stabilization product, EarthZyme is environmentally-friendly and yields permanent results. EarthZyme applications result in improved engineering properties of treated soils, such as increased CBR values and densities, and reduced swell, permeability, dust and rolling resistance. Watch our latest video now to find out more and contact us if you have any questions.
Our past projects have taken us all around the world – and to some of the most remote regions in the world. We have seen first hand how a lack of infrastructure can become a bottleneck to progress – whether it is a key farm road in Turkey or a mine haul road in Colombia, having stable road conditions can ensure there is no unnecessary stoppage in work. Soil stabilization takes poor quality soil and turns it into a valuable engineering material. Coarse aggregate is quickly becoming an exhausted resource. Cost are continually increasing to either deliver the aggregate to the job sites or crust existing rock. The poor quality soil is excavated and then replaced with the aggregate. This increases vehicle usage, time and you would also need to dispose of the poor quality soil. It is more cost effective to use the material that is already there, while … Read More
