Joint Project Between Red River College and Cypher Environmental Showcased at Notre Dame Campus

In 2016 Cypher unveiled its most recent road stabilization and dust control product, known as Dust Stop Municipal Blend (DSMB).  The product formula was produced in a joint Applied Research Project, with the help of NSERC & IRAP and involved significant in-kind contribution from Cypher, and involvement by students and faculty from the college.  The overwhelmingly successful result has been a product that was commercialized in 2017, and has now been sold and applied in over 20 countries worldwide. Cypher Environmental and Red River College are marking the launch of a new product line developed by Cypher in collaboration with RRC students Cypher’s new Dust Stop® Municipal Blend product is designed as a non-corrosive and environmentally friendly alternative to road salts such as magnesium chloride and calcium chloride, offering superior road dust control results. The product was launched today at an event attended by provincial Minister of Sustainable Development Cathy Cox, along with a delegation of political representatives from the Belarusian province of Mogilev, who’ve shown interest in the product. The program at Red River College is very diverse, not only in course material, but also in terms of the student enrollment. Continuing the ongoing mutually beneficial relationship between Red River College (RRC) and Cypher Environmental, Todd Burns, President of Cypher, graciously accepted the invitation to be a judge for one of the Entrepreneurship Projects (EP) developed by a group of RRC students from the Business Administration (BA) program. Todd was on the other end of the podium several years ago when he graduated from the BA program back in 2001, and was chosen by his EP group to lead the oral presentation of their project, giving him an initial glimpse into what would be a long career in public speaking!
