EarthZyme® Soil Stabilizer Improves Infrastructure in Quito, Ecuador

Cypher EnvironmentalEarthZyme, EarthZyme Projects

Before EarthZyme Application

Quito, located in northern Ecuador, is the country’s capital. In recent years, the city has experienced a substantial increase in population in certain parts of the city. Neighbourhoods were formed quickly to accommodate the rise in population without formal city planning. As a result, infrastructure in these parts of the city was lacking. Proper roads were not built and temporary dirt roads were formed as citizens found ways to get around. In an effort to improve infrastructure and improve living conditions for its citizens, the Municipality of Quito implemented soil stabilization on two major transport roads in the summer of 2013. Cypher Environmental’s soil stabilizer product, EarthZyme® was chosen for these two clay road stabilization projects. The two roads demonstrated increased density post-application and 80 more applications have been scheduled for 2014. EarthZyme® is used by EPMMOP as a road stabilizer to strengthen the base of roads within the municipality of Quito. … Read More

Shenhua Mine in China – EarthZyme® Project Update

CypherEarthZyme Projects, News, Soil Stabilization

The Shenhua Mine in China, near Xilinhaote Inner Mongolia, experiences a cold and semi-arid climate with summers that are short and hot with a great deal of precipitation and winters that are long and very cold. However, the mine and its surrounding roadways, previously subject to deterioration as a result of the extreme weather, continues to thrive following the EarthZyme road application and soil stabilization that was completed in the fall of 2013. The mine had previously been experiencing issues during the rainy season, which typically lasts between May and October. Oftentimes, mine operations would be suspended because rainfall would cause road conditions to be very unstable and dangerous. In order to avoid unplanned work stoppages and remain profitable, they needed a solution that would keep the mine operational throughout the year regardless of weather. Over the course of one year, roads have been constructed surrounding the Shenhua Mine totalling … Read More
