Canadian Geotechnical Journal Publishes Capillary Rise Experiment Abstract

Canadian Geotechnical Journal

Canadian Geotechnical Journal recently published an article featuring Cypher Environmental and Red River College‘s joint Capillary Rise experiment program that was abstracted earlier in 2017. The experiment program was conducted and documented by Neil Chandler of Red River College and the Cypher Environmental engineering team. The focus of the program was two 1-year capillary rise experiments designed to test the influence of the soil additive on the soil’s adsorption of water. The enzyme additive is typically applied to marginal clay-based soils to improve the performance of road subgrades. The study investigated the potential increase in shear strength and the reduction in swelling. The two long-term soil column tests were conducted to measure water absorption due to capillary rise for soil specimens with, and without, enzyme treatment. The test results demonstrated that the addition of the enzyme soil additive had the effect of reducing water retained in the pore spaces of … Read More

CypherNews

Cypher Environmental has been a proud member of CAMESE for the past several years, and was delighted to once again take part in the 2016 CAMESE Procurement Forum, which was developed this year in collaboration with the CMIC. The forum took place at the Mississauga Hilton, in Mississauga, Ontario, on November 16th – 17th, 2016. CAMESE , an acronym for the Canadian Association for Equipment and Services for Export, and the CMIC, the Canadian Mining Innovation Council, are both excellent avenues for companies like Cypher to help showcase their innovative technologies, both in Canada and around the world. Therefore it was an easy decision for Cypher to take part in this year’s forum. Aptly named, “Bridging the Gap – 2.0”, the Procurement Forum this year focused on “Innovation in Mining”, on day one, and “What’s in the Project Pipeline”, on day two. In short, Bridging the Gap was a two … Read More
