Eco-Infrastructure Solutions Applies UltraZyme® to Reclaimed Landfill for Odour Control

Cypher EnvironmentalNews, UltraZyme Projects

Reclaimed Landfill

UltraZyme® reduces the general population of Sulphate-Reducing Bacteria (SRBs) in anaerobic systems and therefore, over time, alleviates and reduces odour issues. Cypher Environmental had developed this particular treatment plan with Eco-Infrastructure Solutions, who were trying to apply the product to open pit landfills in order to reduce any unwanted odours as well as reduce methane output as a result of decomposition. The unique cultures within UZP are selected for optimum enzyme and bacteria production, assuring efficient breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates and fats when UZP is applied to any treatment area. A proprietary micronutrient carrier provides accelerated germination and growth, while bacterial enzyme production reduces odour, BOD, COD, suspended solids, turbidity, and ammonia concentrations. UZP works well in aerobic, anaerobic and facultative environments. Cypher’s unique, non-engineered cultures contained in UZP rapidly digest odour-causing organic wastes. Odours aren’t covered up – they are eliminated at the source. To learn more about projects … Read More

EarthZyme® Project Improves Transportation For Farmers in Nigeria

Cypher EnvironmentalEarthZyme Projects, News

Our Construction Foreman Jayme Gladden just finished up an EarthZyme® application on a farm road in Sobe, Edo State, Nigeria. Through a partnership with our Nigerian distributor, Fanaxel Nigeria Ltd, the road construction was executed by partnering company, TransAfrika Roads Technologies. The initial road was little more than a trail with only 2 wheel paths, which was very uneven and completely un-drivable at times. After construction and EarthZyme® application, the road was widened to 7.3 meters to allow higher volumes of traffic. The new road was built to give the local farmers better access to their fields and to help them transport their crops to neighbouring towns for faster shipping while the crops were still ripe, giving them better returns on their yields. The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration would take advantage of opportunities in the agricultural sector and provide requisite support to communities … Read More

Canadian Geotechnical Journal Publishes Capillary Rise Experiment Abstract

Cypher EnvironmentalEarthZyme, News

Canadian Geotechnical Journal

Canadian Geotechnical Journal recently published an article featuring Cypher Environmental and Red River College‘s joint Capillary Rise experiment program that was abstracted earlier in 2017. The experiment program was conducted and documented by Neil Chandler of Red River College and the Cypher Environmental engineering team. The focus of the program was two 1-year capillary rise experiments designed to test the influence of the soil additive on the soil’s adsorption of water. The enzyme additive is typically applied to marginal clay-based soils to improve the performance of road subgrades. The study investigated the potential increase in shear strength and the reduction in swelling. The two long-term soil column tests were conducted to measure water absorption due to capillary rise for soil specimens with, and without, enzyme treatment. The test results demonstrated that the addition of the enzyme soil additive had the effect of reducing water retained in the pore spaces of … Read More
